Dimmable LED Lighting
Dimmable LED fixtures let one light do two jobs: bright when you need to see, soft when you want to relax. Here is where dimming helps most, and what to check before you install.
Where Does Dimmable Lighting Make the Biggest Difference?
Over a dining table, where the difference between a working light and a dinner light is the whole mood of the meal. In a bedroom, where full brightness at bedtime undoes an hour of winding down. In a kitchen, where you want everything visible while you cook and almost nothing on when you come down for water. And in an open-plan main floor, where one setting rarely suits the kitchen, the sofa and the table all at once.
Do I Need a Special Dimmer Switch for LED Lights?
This is the part that catches people out. A dimmable LED fixture still needs a dimmer switch designed for LED loads. An older dimmer built for incandescent bulbs will often work, but it can also flicker, buzz, or refuse to go all the way down, and none of that means the fixture is faulty. If you are replacing a fixture and keeping the switch that was already on the wall, it is worth checking what that switch actually is before you blame the light.
Does Dimming Shorten LED Life?
Everything in this collection is LED, so dimming does not shorten bulb life the way it once did with halogen. All Artika products carry a 5-year warranty.
