What makes a fixture
sloped-ceiling compatible

Three things, usually. A canopy
that pivots so it seats flat against the angle instead of leaving a gap. A rod
or chain that lets the fixture hang plumb rather than tilted with the ceiling.
And enough adjustment in that rod or chain to handle the drop, since a sloped
ceiling means the mounting point is higher than it would be in a flat room. If
a fixture is missing any of the three, you end up shopping for a sloped ceiling
adapter after the fact — which is exactly the step this collection is meant to

Rooms where it comes up

Vaulted great rooms and living
rooms are the common one, where a flat-ceiling fixture would hang at an angle
and read as a mistake from across the room. Loft and attic bedrooms, where the
pitch runs right down to the knee wall. Open stairwells and two-storey
