What Makes a Fixture Sloped-Ceiling Compatible?

Three things, usually. A canopy that pivots so it seats flat against the angle instead of leaving a gap. A rod or chain that lets the fixture hang plumb rather than tilted with the ceiling. And enough adjustment in that rod or chain to handle the drop, since a sloped ceiling means the mounting point is higher than it would be in a flat room. If a fixture is missing any of the three, you end up shopping for a sloped ceiling adapter after the fact, which is exactly the step this collection is meant to skip.

Which Rooms Need Sloped Ceiling Lighting?

Vaulted great rooms and living rooms are the common one, where a flat-ceiling fixture would hang at an angle and read as a mistake from across the room.
